The EA WebModeler repository is a scalable enterprise data store designed to manage an infinite mixture of artifacts, models, collaborations and documents. The repository stores and relates a broad range of information required to construct a seamless picture of the business, application, information, and technology architecture. Repository information is, with appropriate permissions, accessible to be visualized, analyzed, validated, and shared with other enterprise solutions.

The EA WebModeler repository implements an Active Object Model (AOM) schema, producing a highly flexible repository. New artifact types, models, and other types of information may be managed within the EA WebModeler repository with no changes to the core schema required.

The EA WebModeler repository may be deployed on any SQL92 relational database platforms providing options for cost, scalability, and manageability. Users may even utilize EA WebModeler as a single-user solution, or small group solution with M.S. Access, and seamlessly import that work into M.S. SQLServer. Another popular configuration is utilizing MySQL on Linux providing a low cost solution but one that is now bullet-proofed by companies such as IBM and HP. By leveraging off-the-shelf relational database technology, enterprise architecture information is centrally located, easy to access, and easy to manage.
