EA Webmodeler provides a browser based report writer which allows the easy specification of ad hoc reports dynamically derived from repository content. Users are able to select concepts to include, attributes to include, relationships of interest and sorting can be specified as well as filtering where required. Reports can be named, saved and rerun easily. They can be quickly linked to user menus for ease of access.



EA Webmodeler also has a unique Composite View facility which allows users to select content from the repository that they want composed into a linear document. Essentially, users “walk over” the meta model, selecting what they want to see (including attributes, relationships and related items (multi level)) then select the starting point for the document.

All relevant content is retrieved, structured into an HTML document, with a hyperlinked Table of Contents; a section per type of information included; and relationships between included items preserved as hyperlinks. This facility can be used, for example, to create:

- A document showing, per Business Unit, what Products and Services it offers, what Business Processes these require, what Applications support these Processes, and what Platforms they run on.

-A strategy document comprising the planning context, business goals, architecture scenarios, initiatives etc.

Defined views can be saved and linked to user menus for ease of reuse and consistency. They can be rerun at any time to reflect the desired view on the latest repository content.
