Fast Time-to-Value

EA WebModeler server receives requests from clients using standard web browsers, thus, once the server has been installed, EA WebModeler has been deployed. Users simply open a browser, log-in, and interact with the solution. Because EA WebModeler is quick to install, deploy, and learn, it provides the shortest time-to-value in the market.

Installing

EA WebModeler server may be installed on Windows, Unix, and other platforms, in tiers:

  • Single Tier: - Database, EA WebModeler Server, and http server on single machine.

  • Two Tier: EA WebModeler Server and Database or http server on single machine, thus  database or http server on the second machine.

  • Three Tier: Database, EA WebModeler, and http server on separate machines.

Agilense provides on-site and remote installation services for those customers that do not want to perform installation themselves.

Platform configurations

EA WebModeler is built on a platform independent virtual machine which has been ported to many platforms. Because of this, and because EA WebModeler only requires a standard database and http server, a large number of deployment configurations are possible:

Operating Systems X Database X HTTP Server X Hardware

Support for a particular configuration other than described below is customer driven. Currently we run and support EA WebModeler internally as have listed under Supported below and we or our customers have installed and run EA WebModeler as listed under Operated on

Supported
Windows NT/2000/2003/XP Pro (server platform), Access/SQLServer2000, Apache/IIS
Suse Linux, MySQL, Apache
Redhat Linux, MySQL/DB2, Apache

Operated on

Windows XP Pro, Matisse, Tomcat

Windows2000, Oracle 8, IIS

Hardware Sizing

EA WebModeler may be run with very light-weight machinery, however, we recommend the configuration below for an initial system, which allows for plenty of growth. In general, cost for new hardware (server) for an initial multi-user enabled solution should fall into the $3-5K range.
